2017 ECS Saskatchewan: MVP’s

DFP_1392

Garrett Musgrave QB — Garrett possesses the IT factor that coaches love, the minute we got to the football portion of the combine Garrett took over and never looked back. He’s a natural leader with great poise. Garrett plays at a high level and nothing seems to ever rattle him. He might be a bit under the radar playing in Lloydminster but he has all the tools to be a top QB in the class

Daniel Okpoko – This DE has next level written all over him he has great size for the DE position with so much room to grow. Is a very good athlete that was on display during the testing portion of the combine but was really noticeably in the 1 on 1 portion where he used his size, strength and quickness to beat offensive lineman. He’s still a bit raw at the DE spot but his ceiling is extremely high.

Brant Schwengler LB — Was the most consistent LB on the day that showed well in the positional drills with good hips, change of direction and ball skills. Very fast learner that used the coaching techniques he was taught and took them over to the 1 on 1s.

Zach Miller & Logan Hubick OL — Co-MVPs with class of 2018 Zach and class of 2019 Logan leading the group of OL. Both players displayed quick feet to stay in front of defenders and a good initial punch to shock defenders.  Both players should find a home as interior offensive lineman at the next level.

Will Genert DB — Will is an athletic DB that showed well in the testing portion jumping over 8’ in the broad jump and showed good change of direction with 4.51 short shuttle. That athleticism translated well in both the 3 on 2 portion and the 1 on 1 portion where Will was making plays all over the field.

Christopher Vincent WR — Another class of 2019 prospect with a bright future. Christopher showed off great route running ability and the ability to make tough catches. He was in a tough battle with Bryden Loucks and De Shawn Le Jour but his consistency throughout the day gave him the edge.

DFP_1391

Isaac Birdsell-Tyndale RB — Stood out from a decent group of RBs is more of a fullback/H Type at the next level but is someone that can and isn’t afraid to take on LB in pass blocking, can get the tough yardage when needed but also nimble enough to make a player miss in the whole.
